BillForge vs Zoho Invoice
Zoho Invoice is a polished invoicing app from the wider Zoho suite, and for Indian businesses it is free within set limits. BillForge is built around Indian GST, TDS and MSME compliance. Here is a feature-by-feature comparison, using only what Zoho states on its own pages, so you can pick what fits your business.
| Feature | BillForge | Zoho Invoice |
|---|---|---|
| GST invoices (CGST/SGST/IGST)Tax split by state of supply | Yes | Zoho describes it as free GST-compliant invoicing for Indian businesses |
| Gap-free Rule 46 invoice numberingSequential numbers with no gaps; format locks on the first invoice of the financial year | Numbers are allocated inside a database transaction, so gaps are avoided by design | Not mentioned on the pages we checked |

| GSTR-3B | Portal-shaped JSON, monthly and QRMP | Zoho's page says you can export GSTR-3B in JSON format and file it yourself on the GST portal |
| TDS records, Form 16A data, 26Q exportTDS you deduct on vendor payments, and TDS clients deduct from you | Form 16A certificate data and a 26Q export (not the official TRACES certificate) | Not mentioned on the pages we checked |
| MSME 43B(h) 45-day trackerAlerts on overdue bills to MSME vendors | Yes | Not mentioned on the pages we checked |
| AI bank reconciliation | Yes | Not mentioned on the pages we checked |
| Delivery challan with e-way bill details | Not a BillForge feature today | Zoho's page says you can add e-way bill details on a GST delivery challan |
| Free plan limits | Free for 3 months with every feature and unlimited invoices; then a free plan of 10 invoices a month, or ₹149/month or ₹4,999 once (both + 18% GST) | Free for Indian businesses: up to 2 users, 3 projects and 500 invoices a year, with "Powered by Zoho Invoice" branding |
Zoho cells below are taken from Zoho's India Invoice pages. "Not mentioned on the pages we checked" means we did not find it on those pages; it does not prove Zoho lacks it. Zoho also sells other finance products (Zoho Books, Zoho Billing) that we did not compare.

Is BillForge a replacement for Zoho Invoice?
If you mainly need to send GST invoices, both work, and Zoho Invoice is free within its limits. If you also want TDS records, the MSME 43B(h) tracker and AI bank reconciliation in the same place, BillForge covers those. Zoho covers things BillForge does not, such as delivery challans with e-way bill details. Pick the one that matches your workflow.
Does Zoho Invoice file GSTR-1?
Zoho's India Invoice page says you can file GSTR-1 directly from Zoho Invoice using an API, and export GSTR-3B in JSON format (checked 12 October 2026). BillForge generates portal-format GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B exports that you upload to the GST portal yourself. Have your CA review any return before you file.
Can I move my data from Zoho to BillForge?
You can export your clients and items from Zoho as CSV and import them into BillForge. Write to support@billforge.in and we will help with the migration.
